Chicago, IL – The members of the Central Church Council will
meet on Friday, (December 11th) and Saturday (December 12th) at Holy
Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral of Chicago. The Central Church Council
is the executive body of the Church Assembly (Sabor). The Central Church
Council (CCC) administers the external church affairs of the Serbian Orthodox
Church in North and South America. Members of the CCC are: Metropolitan and
diocesan bishops, bishop’s deputies and other priests designated by the
hierarch, one priest from each diocese also appointed by local hierarch,
vice-president of the Diocesan council, three lay members who are ratified at
the Church Assembly representing each diocese, treasurer of the CCC, and the
secretary of the CCC. The Seat of the CCC is in Libertyville, IL at St. Sava
Serbian Orthodox Monastery, the See of the president of Episcopal Council, the
Most Reverend Metropolitan of Libertyville-Chicago, Christopher. St. Sava
Serbian Orthodox Monastery is also the See of the Serbian Orthodox Church in
North and South America.
